Policies/Procedures:
Clients are seen by appointment. If you identify as homeless, please call at 5:30 P.M. to make a same-evening appointment. For all other clients, please call at 5:45 P.M. to arrange a same-evening appointment. Our services are always very highly impacted, and it is important to call right at 5:45 (or 5:30 if you are homeless) to maximize your chances of getting an appointment.
Saturdays from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. we are a Women's Clinic only. Women interested in STI screening, pregnancy testing, or who believe they may have a UTI can also make use of the clinic's Saturday.
Sunday's we provide STD/HIV services for all male-bodied individuals. Services on Sundays are provided by the Gay Mens Health Collective.
For our Dental services, we hold a lottery each month. Please check the website listed above or give us a call for the next dates.
For Peer counseling, we offer services Monday through Friday from 6:30 P.M. -9:00 P.M. If it is you first time in our counseling program, please drop in for your first visit; during this visit you can set up an regular appointment time with a counselor. At the front desk, we have a large database of resources and handouts for other services and resources in the bay area.

Berkeley Free Clinic is staffed by volunteer community health workers trained at the Berkeley Free Clinic, together with volunteer medical professionals from the community, provide limited acute (short-term), primary care services. Our lay community health workers are trained on-site to see the following types of concerns:
-Basic Men's STI testing & treatment
-Women's STI testing for those without any current symptoms
-Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) in women
-Colds and sore throats
-Simple rashes and skin concerns
-Minor wounds & burns (no sutures)
-TB testing
-Pregnancy testing
In addition, some of our lay health care workers can see:
-Limited ear problems
-Limited lower respiratory infections (coughs)
Note that we cannot see:
-Life threatening or serious illnesses/injuries
-Long-term problems like HIV or diabetes
-Any concern that has lasted more than one month
-Physicals/general checkups
-Concerns located on the face
-Gynecological services
-Women with STI symptoms
-Eye concerns
